LaserPeak today announced the LP-F12000, the highest-power machine in its fiber laser cutting portfolio. The new 12 kW flagship extends the heavy-duty platform first introduced with the LP-F6000 series, bringing a 3500 × 1500 mm working area to structural steel, heavy plate and thick stainless fabrication. The machine is open for order from November 2026, with the first installations scheduled from the first quarter of 2027.
Output is double that of the 6 kW LP-F6000, and the gain is most visible on thicker material: 6 mm mild steel now runs at up to 8 m/min, 10 mm at approximately 5 m/min, and 20 mm plate at roughly 2.2 m/min. On 3 mm cold-rolled sheet the LP-F12000 holds about 55 m/min, so thin-gauge jobbing is not the reason to upgrade. The source is a single-module, diode-pumped fiber laser with 100 µm beam quality and output that holds within ±1% across the full 8 to 100% modulation range.
The chassis and gantry are engineered for the thermal load of a 12 kW source: a welded cast bed with a granite-stabilised Y-axis, dual-drive racks on the X-axis and a re-geared Z-axis that keeps positioning accuracy within ±0.05 mm at 140 m/min traverse speed. Acceleration remains 1.0 G, so lead-ins stay short on small parts and small-hole piercing is unaffected by the extra power reserve.
The process head is the auto-focusing head used on the LP-F6000, now rated for 12 kW with a 150 mm lens change range and an optional 0.8 mm spot for 3 mm and thinner plate. A 6 kW head is available as a lower-cost configuration for shops that cut mostly mild steel up to 12 mm, and the high-stability cut-control package reduces pierce time on 20 mm plate by up to 30%.
The machine was designed from the ground up for automation: it accepts the LP-A series sheet exchange and pallet stations, plus a 12-pallet buffer option, and runs the same LP-Plus programming environment used across the range. Availability, lead times and pricing are handled directly by LaserPeak sales and the new European service centre in Stuttgart.

Gas selection, focus position and pierce strategy decide whether a 6 mm carbon steel tube cut is production-ready or full of rework. This note lists the settings we run on LP-T Series machines and the three defects that cause most complaints.
LaserPeak will show the full European product range at stand 22-D48 in Hall 22, Messe Hannover, from 10 to 13 November 2026, including live tube cutting, welding and automated loading demonstrations.

Aluminium reflects the beam, conducts heat quickly and forms a hard, spiky dross. Surface preparation, gas pressure and nozzle geometry decide whether the cut edge is clean or coated in spatter.
