Process Advice for 40kW Heavy Plate Cutting
- 01Step 01
Confirm Material and Thickness Fit
Match your plate material and thickness to the heavy-duty plate cutting capability described for the LP-F12000 12 kW fiber laser and the LP-F6000 Heavy-Duty Fiber Series before committing to a process.
- 02Step 02
Set Cutting Parameters and Gas
Select cutting parameters and assist gas based only on the parameter values published in the LP-F6000 Heavy-Duty Fiber Series catalogue and LP-F12000 materials; do not extrapolate numbers beyond those sources.
- 03Step 03
Plan Fixturing and Support
Prepare fixturing and workpiece support suited to heavy plate handling as covered in the LP-F6000 Heavy-Duty Fiber Series documentation, and confirm tube or profile needs against the LP-T Series where relevant.
- 04Step 04
Validate Before Production
Run validation trials on your actual material and thickness using the documented parameters, and confirm results against the published LP-F6000 and LP-F12000 specifications before full production.
Preliminary process advice based on the requirement you described. Final parameters are confirmed by a trial cut on your material before production.
Heavy-duty fiber laser for thick plate cutting
The LP-F6000 Heavy-Duty Fiber Series is built for heavy-duty plate cutting, and LaserPeak also offers the LP-F12000 12 kW fiber laser for this duty.
A 3 kW fibre laser in a 3000×1500 mm format, the LP-F1503-3kW cuts 3 mm carbon steel at about 12 m/min and reaches 10 mm mild steel at rated power. Pneumatic pallet exchange, automatic nozzle control and a compact footprint make it a strong production cell for small and mid-size job shops.
- Power
- 3 kW
- Cutting area
- 3000×1500 mm
- Accuracy
- ±0.02 mm
The 1.5 kW version of the LP-F1500 platform for thin sheet, precision blanks and high-volume small parts. It cuts thin stainless at more than 30 m/min, minimizes heat-affected zones on delicate workpieces and draws considerably less power than comparable carbon dioxide installations.
- Power
- 1.5 kW
- Cutting area
- 3000×1500 mm
- Accuracy
- ±0.02 mm
The 40 kW flagship with an 8000×2500 mm bed, cutting 30 mm carbon steel in one pass and handling the largest structural blanks in the LaserPeak range. It targets shipbuilding, defence platforms and heavy equipment where very thick plate is cut as single pieces.
- Power
- 40 kW
- Cutting area
- 8000×2500 mm
- Accuracy
- ±0.02 mm
A 30 kW laser on the 6000×2500 mm platform for the thickest production plate. It cuts 25 mm carbon steel at about 2.5 m/min and 30 mm at roughly 1.5 m/min, letting fabricators consolidate large-plate work that previously went to waterjet or multiple oxy-fuel stations.
- Power
- 30 kW
- Cutting area
- 6000×2500 mm
- Accuracy
- ±0.02 mm
The LP-A2000 automates sheet handling around LaserPeak fibre cutting machines, with interchangeable lifting tables, automatic pallet exchange, sheet following and robot loading arms. Unattended hours increase while operators move from handling heavy plate to programming and inspection.
- Cutting area
- Serves 1500×750 to 6000×2500 mm sheet platforms
- Accuracy
- ±0.05 mm sheet positioning
A 10 kW laser on the 4000×2000 mm bed for large-format panels in one piece. It cuts 6 mm carbon steel at about 9 m/min and handles 20 mm plate, giving structural, vehicle-body and enclosure manufacturers a single machine for full-width blanks with no part splitting.
- Power
- 10 kW
- Cutting area
- 4000×2000 mm
- Accuracy
- ±0.02 mm
